help... satoshi grill mod

I am a college student with not a lot of time and zero experience with fiberglass or bondo. I need to kknow if i should even attempt doing a satoshi girll mod by myself or if i should just try to find someone who can do it for me on this forum. And if that is the case could you PM me and give me a price:D?

Question.... In your sig. I can see black on black. But black on black on black means a black convertible on a black car with black interior. I am assuming you didn't chop your top. If so, that's one heck of a mod. :shrug:
 
Here's a writeup I did, the second post applies to the '06 grille, but is still modified to fit an '03.

You can also search for mytoy4 build thread, she did an '06 satoshi with no bondo or fiberglass.

I'm willing to do the work for you, but it's not cheap.
 
zu13, just an idea, I know you said you dont have lots of money (neither do I lol) but maybe call a few local junk yards, and see what they would charge to a used grill, if its cheap enough, get that and practice on that, then do yours.

I was patient and waited til I found a grille on eBay for $60 shipped ($25 for the '03) then started working til I had a finished grille. The '06 satoshi actually took me almost 6 months (working in a dorm sized apartment between work, travel, & classes).

edit- the '06 satoshi I did took so long in part because it was for an '03 and required much more modification.
 
If you want to have a Satoshi with a thin lip it's easier. No bondo like MYToy4's. If you want a deep lip that's where the bondo comes in.........

Keep an eye on ebay i actually just purchased a 03-05 grille for 25 dollars plus 12 for shipping there 10 min ago. I lucked out because its already white like my vehicle.
 
I had been watching that exact same grill. I have thought about trying it but just don't have enough free time right now. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

no excuses momo, it took gaterose about 6 months, so get crackin haha. I'm contemplating 06+ headlights and grille, then satoshi, or retro my 04, and satoshi an 04 grille
 
I have though about upgrading my lights and grill to the 06-09 style, but really like the 03-05 style.
 
i just found a 03-05 satoshi mod and ehh its ok i dont like the gap between the bottom of grill and the top of bumper but its not horrible maybe i can figure out another way or just have to deal with it until i swap to 06 headlights
