help, starter problems after 2004 engine swap

We had to have an the engine replaced after the head gaskett went and triggered a cylinder misfire code (coolant in cylinder). We were quoted CAD$6800 by one shop, couldn't afford it so had a friend do it for $2600.
Now the electrical is not right. Sometimes it starts when you turn the key, sometimes it does not. The cruise control does not engage nor does the 4x4.
We figured it needed the computer from the replacement engine and got that from the wrecker and replaced it. Now it won't start at all! We are thinking it needs the keys to be recoded or get the matching keys for this engine/computer combo. Anyone have any insight?

Did you guys replace the immobilizer unit with the ECM? I can't remember if it is separate on the 4th gens.

Try this, when sitting in the vehicle the security light should blink with the key OUT of the ignition. Then stick the key into the ignition, the security light should stop blinking (don't need to turn the key on.)

I still have the same issue with my engine swap. I disconnected both of the Camshaft Position Sensors. Now when I try to turn the vehicle on... sometimes it will turn on after the first tried or the second or third tried. I've not yet found a solution to this problem. Any luck on your fix?
