So yesterday me and a buddy were out riding in my 4runner. We came across this valley filled with water, so I seized the opportunity to put my runner to a test. Dumb idea. I ended up stuck in about 2 ft of water for about 2 hours. There was about 2 inches of water on the inside. NOW it idles at about 400 rpms and doesn't sound as healthy as it used to. When it turns over, it is very quiet and feels like it's about to turn off. Also, the check engine light turned on and there's a sucking sound when I push in the clutch, followed by a scratching sound when I shift. What do I do?!?! It's a 96 4x4.

Seriously tho, did u change all ur fluids? Oil, gear oil, tranny fluid. Make sure all ur electrical components are clean and dry.

Vacuum line came off somewhere. Fix that and you idle should be better. The only dumb part was getting stuck but that's half the fun. Next time go out more prepared. I don't ride out with out a buddy and at least a bunch of recovery gear.
Don't buy the crap from harbor freight. You want quality stuff that will not fall on you when you need it!
