Hello T4R Forum,

Looking through the threads I see a lot of peoples 4Rs and boy are they nice. I would 1st off like to thank you for creating the site and I also would like to ask for some help.

Ok, So my left front blinker in the front is not working, however in the back it is.

It is rapidly flashing. So I thought that meant it needed a new bulb. Went and changed the bulb and its still doing the same thing.

I read on the forum that there is a flasher unit? However, someone stated that if the flasher unit is bad then both turn signals would not work.

I think it might be the actually socket? I am not too sure. Wanted to get input from the wise community.

Any help would be wonderful.

Clean the socket for the bulb. Make sure you have good contact. Also, try a bulb from the working side. Could have gotten a bad bulb.

What year is your 4Runner? early 4th Gen runners with daytime running lights (2003-2005) are notorious for the sockets overheating and going bad. I've had to replace both of my front sockets on my 2005.

Clean your sockets electric contact cleaner by crc then once clean ad a lil bulb grease or get di-electric grease by crc which will help with a contact issue, heating issue etc.. Do mine once a year and I off-road all year long at least every Sunday and have never had a socket issue on my 03.
Better than changing sockets and the two cans will last forever since it don't take much

I purchased mine directly from the dealer as I think they were around $12.00 each (3 years ago). I simply spliced them into the existing wiring (using solder and shrink wrap). I also switched the bulbs to LED's which produce less heat. Let us know how it goes!

Er... Yeah. That's exactly how mine looked prior to splicing in the new ones. This time, after you splice in your new sockets, install LED's and you will never have the problem again.

Actually the one they sent me was a new socket! so all i had to do was unplug it from the other side C:! Works like a charm now. Got it off Amazon for 7 bucks.
