Help - Truxxx 3-1.25 lift - '07 4runner w/Xreas

Hi all,

I decided to ditch my Corn Fed 2-1 lift kit and go with the Truxxx lift instead. Does anyone have pics of the Truxxx install in a 4runner with XREAS?

I did not want to deal with working around the X-reas with the pre-loaded corn fed lift as I did not want to deal with the spring compressing headache.

Looks like the truxxx lift is much easier.

Thanks in advance for any info or what to look out for etc (other than not breaking the Xreas seals during the install process!!!).

Also, I have a new Corn fed 2-1 lift kit for sale. Never installed.

Have you checked out the Daystar 2.5/1.5 kit yet? Very easy and inexpensive!

^^^^:iagree:^^^^ I just installed the Daystar 2.5/1.5 on my 4Runner with XREAS and for the money, I couldn't be happier. When my XREAS fails, I can use the same spacers on some FJ coils or perhaps other future options. I would recommend them over Truxxx based on the price I just saw on their website. Good luck.

uhhh, you literally just bought the same thing.... just the truxx is 3" not 2" up fornt... regardless your going to be messing with a coil compressor... with any spacer/coil lift theres no way around it unless you got pre assembled C/O's

Thanks but these kits are "post load" lift kits; this means the spacers go "on top" of the upper shock mount (between the upper chock mount and strut tower) and NOT sandwiched in between the spring and the upper shock plate.

So no, there is NO need for the coil compressor with these 2 lift kits.

However, for the Corfed lift kit you would need a coil compressor as it is a "PRE-load" lift. This also changes the suspension stiffness as you have just inserted a 2 inches spacer in between the coil and the upper shock plate. I decided to NOT go this route for that reason and the fact that I do not want to deal with a coil compressor and have to work around the X-REAS system; for me; that is a pain in the butt; no local shops will touch it either.

It is very HARD to find a shop that will work on a X-REAS 4runner as they are afraid of ruining a$1800 system. I am also surprised that most shops never heard of X-REAS!

I looked at them. Thanks! UI am debating over the Daystar an Truxxx. Truxxx has included a differential drop so that on the 4x4 models the CV joints would last as long as Toyota designed them too. Not sure if this is a big deal but is an added feature that Daystar does not mention in their kit.

With some topout spacers, referred to above a post load, you still need a spring compressor to install longer studs. Some spacers include longer studs, others bolt in to the assembly. Most major lift companies use the longer studs, so disassembling the strut IS required.
