hello all, i am going to be purchasing some stuff on thurs 3/15 i have read and learned alot off of these boards thanx to you guys.i just want to let you guys know what i wanted to do to make sure i was making the right decision.

i own a 2001 sr5 2wd want the lift for looks

from what ive gathered this is my decision i will get a 3" OEM suspension lift and a 1" body lift made by toytec

http://www.toyteclifts.com/96024runnercart.html

(Part #OME3-RUN and 96B1-K)

if i read and understood correctly i can lift my 2wd just like a 4wd becuase the suspension is the same, is this accurate?

also i am going to order these parts first becuase again if read correctly i can lift my truck like this w/o shocks(just for a couple of weeks to a month till i am able to afford some decent shocks) is this right? and if so is it worth it should i just wait till i can afford the shocks just to avoid any risk of damageing my truck?..(sorry if the questions are noobish but i dont know much about this stuff)

well those are my questions for now im sure they ll keep coming i sincerly appreciate any and all info/help you guys can give

did you say you have a 2wd truck ? if so, no it is not the same suspention as a 4wd , unless its a 2wd prerunner. if you own a 2wd 4runner, yes they do have the same suspection. and
i would wait and replace everything at once when you have extra cash

sorry nothing to offer the author just wanted to say that post most likely made him more confused haha

You might actually get a little more help over at yotatech.com as there are a few people over there that have done lifts on there 2wd 4runners. Neliconcept is just one of the member's that comes to minds. I believe he is a member here as well though. You might also look into contacting Steve at SonoranSteel.com. He carries many lift options for the 3rd gen runners and should be able to help you with what may be different about lifting a 2wd. Goodluck.

talk to nelionconcept on this board or yotatech.com, he has a 2wd 4runner that is bigger than my 4wd 4runner. he can help you, and like the others said, just save up and do it all at once, you risk blowing out your shocks if you just lift it with springs. and its OME for old man emu, not OEM for original equipment manufacturer
