I just bought a 98 nissan 200sx for my work car. There was a nice sony radio in it when I agreed to buy it. The young girl I was buying it from afterwords asked if she could keep the radio. I agreed. When test driving it I noticed there was what looked like a amp cable running from the radio to the back of the car, I assumed trunk, amp maybe. She didnt know, her bf hooked the radio up. Ne who, I pulled the jvc out of my ex beater the trans just went out on, worked fine in that car. Hooked it up to the nissan.....no dice. Getting 12v on the hot wire but nothing on the yellow wire the draws volts to keep your presets and all that info. Radio wont power on, wont do anything. checked all the fuses. the 15amp under the dash for the radio was blown at first, so i replaced it. Fuse in my radio is fine. Wired it up 2x, first time with scotch locks, second time stripped and wire nuts. Any ideas fellas??? Driving me nuts, i even ran a dif ground wire thinking it wasnt grounded well. Still nothin.

after a little more investigating, it seems that cable running to the back of the car actually pulled power off the taillight and grounded to the bolt that holds the truck latch in place. Not sure why the hell they did that.
