So I just purchased a 2005 4R Sport a few weeks ago. It has 216k miles. I bought it with the knowledge it had an airbag light on. I fixed that this weekend with a new clock spring. Easy 20-minute job. My scanner was only reading the SRS code before. Now it is reading a Body Code and Back Door Code of P1378-Preignition Detected. No MIL or any other dash lights are on and it seems to be driving fine. Google isn't turning much up on what this code actually means. I had the battery disconnected while I was replacing the clock spring. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be?
My second question is when the AC is running whether it be on high or low or even if the defrost is on so the compressor is working, when stopped at a red light every 10-15 seconds or so the RPMs jump up about 600-800 RPMs, enough to slowly start moving forward if foot not firmly pressed on the brake. It does not do this at all if the AC is turned off. What could this be? Really hoping it's not the compressor going. Thank you!
