my rear window is acting up: the motor is working but window is not coming down straight. one side comes down and the other side seems stuck and I have to manually push it down and pull back up when closing.

anyone have this problem? I was told by a mechanic that it is a very difficult job but I also saw some feeds on the internet that it is an easy fix.

any suggestions?
thanks,
pete

It may just be hanging up in the rubber tracks on each side.
With the window down spray some silicon lube on them ( don't waste your time w/ WD-40).
Let it run down along the track by the glass, then run the window up and down a bit and repeat.

thanks for the tip. will give it a try. auto shop wanted to charge me 160 just to look at it and told me its a complicated job.

It could be something else and become complicated, but start with the simple stuff first.
The pass side window on my 84 has been having a hard time going up, I lubed the rubber channels it rides in and now it goes up much smoother. The rubber hardens up over time and creates resistance.
