Hello,
I have been meaning to ad a wall power pug to my truck and I have no idea how. I would like to plug in regular items that require a regular wall plug in my truck. (laptops, grills, ext)

How can I do this?
It this something I can do straight from the Toyota parts dept?
And how Can i do so? if I have to do it myself?

Thank you

You can buy an inverter that hooks up to your battery. Takes 12 volts from the vehicle and turns it into 120 volt A/C. You can buy them just about anywhere. Any auto parts store or places like Crutchfield.

The funniest bit of all this is everything you mentioned is D.C. powered. AC travels, DC powers is a general rule of thumb. So, many of your home appliances simply have a huge AC to DC converter inside. Your modern TV, Computer, Laptop... etc.

Anyway. It just cracks me up. Every time you do conversion, you lose power (usually through heat). So. Your standard laptop will take D.C. power from your cars battery, the AC converter will switch it and then your laptops power brick will convert it back to DC. Nasty.
