Getting ready to check comp on my 22re do I need to pull all the plugs while testing each cylinder? Any tips would be great, also I am hearing a vacuumed leak and narrowed it down to a little black cylinder shaped cap with vents in the top what the hell is that.

I generally get the motor to temp, pull all the plugs and take comp readings, then if the numbers are bad I'll add a small glug of oil to each cylinder and do it again.

The one on the power steering pump?

yup, warm up engine 1st. next pull the EFI fuse so you loose spark and fuel. have something hold the throttle body open. pull all spark plugs. compression tester installed and crank engine over 5-8 times, but try to keep them the same for each cylinder.

it helps to have a battery charger hooked up to the battery to keep a constant cranking speed
