Help with misfire

I posted a couple days ago with a check engine light due to a oxygen sensor going bad. Now my 4runner is misfiring like crazy. Got it checked out and cylinder 2,5, and 6 are acting up. So far i only changed the spark plugs once i found out the misfires. What should be my next move? It's driveable and won't turn off.

yeah. It just boggles bad. Had to bring it back home. Didn't feel my 4runner would be safe at my work over night.

Wires and coil packs would be the next steps.

Switch misfiring coil packs and wires with the ones you know are good and see if the misfires follow

If one coil failed it could account for two misfires assuming two of your misfiring cylinders share the same coil pack

have you reset your ecu to clear the code and make sure your engine is running normal fuel trims instead of whatever messed up one it learned from running with the Bad O2?

yes I've reset the ECU to clear the codes. I'll test out the coils packs next. Thanks guys. Really bums me out when my 4runner is not right.

Update on the misfiring. I got my check engine light checked and now the only cylinder misfiring is 6. So, while the 4runner is on, I unplugged and plugged back each spark plug cable one by one to make sure there were sparks. Everything was good. So far i changed spark plugs, confirmed all wires are working correctly, ran Berryman Fuel Injection cleaner, and still misfiring. Could it be the injector?

It could be an injector. But first, switch the coil packs and see if the misfire follows the coil pack. Next, pull all the plugs and compression test it. (easier than pulling the injectors and good to rule out) If the mis doesn't follow the coil pack and the compression numbers are good, very safe to assume at that point that its the injector.

If it is an injector, pull all 6 and send them to WitchHunter. For about $125 or so they will clean and rebuild your OEM injectors. DON'T use after market injectors.

Hey guys. I found the problem. It was the spark plug cables. Ha. I wanted to replace them before messing around the injectors. So, yesterday I installed new NGK blue cables and my 4Runner is driving smooooooootthhh again. Thanks for your input, guys. Have a good one.

So what led you wrong, and how did you find out? Just curious....

I rechecked the cables since I did not pull out each one completely out. The boot going to cylinder six had cracked burn marks. So I replaced the cables and now runs like a champ.
