Help with new 3" toytec lift and wheels

Hi Guys,

I'm new here and have been digging around for some help with no luck. I hope someone can chime in and help me here.

I have an 07 4runner 4wd Sport with XREAS. I ordered the 3" Toytech lift and was anticipating getting the **** Cepek DC1 rims. Today I found out at the 11th hour that the 17x9 rims are going to give me a problem so I have to find a new rim of 17x8 or 17x8.5. Is this true?

My heart was set on those DC1's and the shop is telling me that they dont recommend putting a 9" width on there.

Has anyone been able to make a 17x9 fit with a 3" lift?

My plans were a 17x9 DC1 running 275/70/17, either the Mickey ATZ or the Nitto Grappler.

I really don't think it is going to fit there is a few people on here that have a 3in lift with 33's on stock rims 7.5 wide and the tires are close to the upper control arm if you do some searching for pics you can find it I think the name of the post was cooper stt 285 70s or something like that don't quote me on it hope this helps
