Help with paint and dent???

Gentleman,

My wife's 4 runner had i am guessing a rock come up and hit the side of her 4 runner and chipped paint and left a small dent on the driver's side front fender. Is there any advice or tips to try to fix this easy? Please see pics! Thanks!!!

Find a good PDR (paintless dent removal) person in your area.

I had similar ones on my 2012WRX, and the PDR guy was able to remove the dents and touch up the paint chips.

The other option is to have traditional body work done, and they would have to blend the new paint to the existing paint, which in the end could be costly.

Thanks for the advice. I know they make touch up paint pins that I might try? That is after I find a dentless remover. I had one do a lot for me years ago on my then wife's camera that thanks to hail storm got beat up pretty good. He did a great job but can't find his info. I plan to call local body shop that has done work for me and get his # as they referred me to him.

My thought are to have him remove the small dents and touch up paint if he also does that or though up myself once he does then have it buffed out along with the rest of the 4runner to bend in.

If you are not OCD about your truck I would just get touch-up paint from the dealer and not worry about the dent just yet. Chances are you will eventually get a door ding or another rock chip/dent and you will get a much better price getting a few dents fixed than a single dent fixed.

Funny you should say that I am OCD about everything and anything!!! LOL... The really funny thing is my wife who is not OCD is very upset about this on her new 4 runner which only makes me laughs as she doesn't worry about anything but this.

I would say take it to a body shop. They probably could blend the paint with in that panel and not need to touch the hood. That fender flare is plastic and if u look close enough the paint shading is off a tad bit from factory. Rule of thumb is generally if he damage is 8 in away from the next panel or seem no blending of adjacent panel will be required.

If you have a 500 dollar deductible I think this repair would fall under that. If you have a 250 might be worth running it.
