So after taking way too long to finish my rear OEM shock / spring replacement it is finally done, had to exchange parts a few times because of wrong washers / bushings as PNs change...
So I have new shocks and springs and KYB top hats. My shocks came with 1 rubber bushing and the top nut, my top hats came with a bushing attached under the metal. So I think I have both bushing needed.
Based on this drawing
1996-2002 Toyota 4Runner Shock Absorber 48510-39585 | Camelback Toyota Parts 2nd picture if that doesn't work.
It looks like it should go shock - washer - bushing - washer - bushing - top hat - washer - nut
Is that correct?
If so I think I need
2 x 90080-94195 - strut lower retainer
4x 90948-A2003 - strut mount retainer
Am I understanding that correctly?
Also, since I am not wanting to re-use anything from my old strut assembly, should i bother to get it de-compressed before disposing of it? Or should I figure the scrap yard knows how to deal with all of that?
