Help with USA Spec 15 ipod and stock stereo

I just installed the USA Spec iPod 15 adapter and everything works great but I can only use the radio controls to navigate songs. I can't change albums or use my iphone to navigate my albums/songs. I'd like to be able to use either to navigate but mostly the iphone. The iphone screen just says something like accessory connected when attempting to get to the ipod.

2005 T4R limited with stock JBL w/RDS.

The dip settings are the default 1 off with 2, 3 & 4 on.

if you have your setting on the cd to 7, just set it to 8...

Ditto on playlist 8. When you choose playlist 8 on the radio the readout will say iPod direct and you will be able to use your iPhone to select the songs etc...

I don't think that is possible. I think in CD 7 mode you can change playlists though.

Another quick fact. Holding down the UP track button on the steering wheel for 2 seconds will put the iPhone into direct mode, without have to go to CD 9. If you hear the one beep, you are now in direct mode.
