welcome also

check out the forum, especially in the Gallery section, and the Accessories section for Ideas that may help you with what you want to buy. this worked out great for me while I was away in Afghanistan, let other's spend their money and take photos of their modifications and upgrades, chose which ones you like, or even the ones that you would never touch with a 10 foot pole. Take your time, and then make the best decision for what you want for your ride, with the assistance of the other members posts. The posts will also help with do's and don'ts to installation and companies to purchase aftermaket products from.

Hope this helps and I haven't rambled too long.

Once again, welcome.

You read my mind. This is going to be my first upgrade. I've had my car for over a year now but am starting to see he's got a lot more potential than he did when he left the dealership.

Since guys call their cars girls, can't girls call their cars HE?

:)

I'm checking into dvd/gps's as we speak. The N1 was what a friend told me to look at as well.

Thanks a ton.

Another girl asked a very similar question in this thread about a month or so ago:

what was your first mod

Welcome to the club and you can also check out the thread linked in my signature. I went a little overboard creating a list of what I have done, want to do, and have decided against. At first glance it seems like it is hard to find things to do, but once you research it a little, the to-do list can become extremely long.

I'm all over it like white on rice.
You got a nice ride and I love all the mods you've done so far.

Looks GREAT.

the one thing i wish i saw more often on 4th gen runners = a lift. i can spot a lifted 4th gen from a mile away and it makes them look a lot more unique. but if you aren't going to take it off road, then maybe the lift can wait. welcome to the forum, there are some other girls around here as well.

Old JC Whitney catalog is a good place to start...

how about that Hollywood wolf whistle horns or the La Cucaracha horn would be a real attention getter...lt's not forget a hood ornament like the jester thumbing his nose or a big bulldog right up front......you can even get the jester wired in so his nose lights up at night....landau roof bars that light up. Just attach it between the rear window and the second door window......exhaust pipe whistles are popular in some neighborhoods....let your neighbors know you're coming down the street.....a real hit at 1:00 am!

:D

I am dating myself rferring to those old JC Whitney catalogs....

No cucaracha for this girl

but a really loud air horn would be pretty fun!

Especially when they look at the driver of my vehicle to see little ole me behind the wheel at a short 5 ft tall and 110 lbs of me.

I use to drive my sister's Expedition which she raised six inches and put 35 inch tires on. Talk about getting stared at!

:p

I agree about the air horn for Socal:driving:. The only thing other than a loud air horn that I want would be one that yelled something like 'HEY STUPID!' or a non pc version.

My first mod is going in today: Kenwood DDX7015 ( 2-DIN In-Dash 6.5" Monitor DVD/CD/MP3/WMA Receiver )

I can't wait!

How easy or difficult are airhorns to install? Anybody have experience with any of them?

Like is the "La cucaracha" easier to install than the obnoxious loud one?"

:p

Would any of you actually have that, IMO, ugly thing on the roof? Yeah, the function may be awesome, but the cost and looks are hideous.

I'd get one mounted under the hood if I could, but I wouldn't want that thing visible!

By the way, DDX7015 is installed and sounds awesome!

I agree - I would mount it under the hood - that kind of thing is best kept as a secret surprise - just dont use it when you're stuck behind a pensioner out on a Sunday drive :)
