I thought all hex bolts were 10mm on my 1997 4Runner.
The hex bolts on the rear that hold the plastic fender flares are not and I cannot figure out what they are.
10mm is too big. 9mm is too small.
Maybe for some reason they are metric?
Why would they be?
Are you talking about the flare that attaches to the bumper or the quarter panel?
The quarter panel. Perhaps flare isn't correct? I'm referring to the plastic on the quarter panel above the wheel.

I also have an imperial set and they are not that either.
Not stripped, not metric, not imperial. What the hell are they?
I'm going to take one out with spanner and bring it to Home Depot.
3/8" (inch) is right in between 10mm and 9mm. Good luck @ home depot.
My bad. They are 10mm. Somehow they are just stripped enough to not fit 10mm.
I am also trying to find an equivalent bolt size for my 2000 4Runner. Somehow one of the bolts on the hinge under the hood has fallen off and now it is really hard to close the hood without two people, because the back of the hood raises into the air as I try to close it. I believe the bolt number is 91551-80820(2). I am trying to figure out what equivalent bolt I can buy at home depot to fix this. Does anyone have an idea?
