Hey guys how do you change the light on the Drivers Info

My bulb went out on the drivers information panel the one under the radio where it tells you your fuel range. Has anyone change that bulb before? The Stealer wants 150 for that

$150?!?! That's crazy. The part is like $3-4 at the dealership. Just order the bulb with holder.

Here are step by step instructions to take the HVAC out (castulucci oem navi access)

All you need to do is pull out the pocket below the HVAC, remove the 10mm bolt, then firmly pull the bottom of the HVAC to release the clips.

Here are the part numbers for all the bulbs behind the HVAC:
90010-09015 long yellow
90010-09017 short clear
90010-09019 long green

You'll need the short clear bulb holder IIRC. Just in case, double check the part number with the dealer before ordering.

It's suuuuuuuper easy to change those bulbs. I think there about $6 each at the stealership. All you do is take out the compartment below the HVAC controls (open it and lift it up and out), then take out one screw, then just pull the whole unit out. Start at the bottom and pull gently. It's held in place by some clips. Unhook the wire harness and viola! I used a butter knife to take out the tiny bulbs. You have to turn them about a 1/4 turn.

You don't have to remove the entire console to change those lights.

Thanks I'll have to try that tonight my middle bulb must be burnt because the temp controls are not lite up but all the others are.

Replaced the center 2 bulbs with the ones from Radio shack and they worked like a charm, they were even brighter then the others so will change all out later, also getting 2 the console lights was a breeze had it all back together and working in like 5 mins.thanks

Wow this thread really helped me out! One of the bulbs on my info panel was out and I saw this thread and picked up the bulb for $3.50 as well as one for the Ac/Auto climate controls and it fixed my problem in less than 15 minutes. I do however have a question, the center climate control on my 4R (06 SR5) lists only one bulb, but when I replaced it the temp up and temp down buttons still do no illuminate, but the AC/ and AUTO button light up like normal. Any ideas?????

Wow.....i wish i had come across this thread before now......i took about 15 more steps, than needed, to get in the dash.....lol. I guess you don't have to remove the rear bumper to get in there.......:ybrick:

I also had one go out and got a new bulb for $3, one piece of advice, if you are changing one, buy two and change them both at teh same time, I only did one and the new one is brighter than the other side now and it really annoyed me, so I went back and got another one and did the same process again, save yourself the headache and just change them both at teh same time.

Also additional note, make sure to remove the green plastic casing on the bulb if you buy from the stealership, be careful not to get finger prints on the bulb, it will burn out sooner due to oils in your skin.

Finally changed a few of my bulbs yesterday. Would have changed them earlier if I knew how easy it was going to be. The dealer wanted to charge me $175 to get them done the last time I had my t4r in for another issue....took me 2 mins to get to the bulbs. Bulbs cost close to $5 each, but they gave me a 25% discount just for bringing the part #'s in. Here is a center console diagram with part #'s.

Too funny. I had just commented on this thread a week or two ago and half my display just went out on Friday. Thanks again for the info.....took all of 5 minutes to replace them.

Thanks everyone for all of the info! We were driving to a halloween display on Friday night and I noticed the bulb for the mileage display is burnt out. Logged on this evening to find info on replacing it and "whalla" it is on the first page! Thanks Again!!!

Hi Fellow 4-Runner'ians ...

While searching for information on the proper method to remove the hvac panel on my wifes 4Runner to replaced the blown lamp ... I came across this thread.

Thanks so much for the Fantastic Information ... It helped me tremendously and made the job a breeze.

I will add something that might help some others. I needed the Bulb C Toyota 90010-09017 and was able to buy it from our Carquest Store here in Virginia. Carquest # DOR 639-007 for $3.19 ea.

Aren't these trucks just awesome!
