Hi from Northern Colorado

Hi guys and gals. My name is Chris and I've joined because I'm planning to buy a new 4runner... I'm going to go with the Limited because the part-time 4WD and no real leather is a deal-breaker for me, but I hate all that chrome for the record ;-) one day I'll probably rip it all off or paint it.

I'm coming from Subaru's, Audi's and of course my old Range Rover... all full time 4WD/AWD systems, and I've gotten spoiled and can't go back.

I've been running my 1995 Range Rover 'Classic' for a long time. A few trails here and there. No real offroad upgrades save for new shocks & Bilsteins. I do all my work myself for the most part... but the RRC is getting old and tired. Love her to bits, but she's not reliable enough to get me 'there and back' like she used to.

I searched high and low for an affordable, reliable and capable vehicle that I didn't mind the look of. Basically, from what I've seen, the 4runner is my only option... took me a little while to get my head around it, but I'm there.

I test drove a 2014 Limited a few weeks back and loved it. Really reminded me of my RRC when she was newer.

She's pretty much going to replace my current Range Rover – so long (1,000-mile) road trips, a bit of trail and light expedition work, and DD. Downside is the MPG, upside is the fact that it's still twice what I'm getting now ;-)

The Range Rover forums were a big part of my life, so I feel like I'm moving countries (again)... looking forward to getting involved.

Hey just joined today myself! My 1999 is still on the lot where I found it in Hyannis, MA at Cape Cod Auto Connections (great spot for 4Runners) but can't wait to get my hands on it next weekend! Sounds like a plug for them but not - just me waking up way too early and messing around... Happy driving!

Thanks Tyler! There's actually another one in town almost exactly like mine – long wheel base model, 'Alpine' white, black powercoated wheels. I couldn't believe it the first time I saw it... so unusual, or so I thought.

Unfortunately I won't be hitting any more trails until I get my Limited... and even then I've got to have a think about making sure I don't scratch all that chrome ;-)
