HID and CB radio problem

My CB radioworks fine but when I turn on my new HID headlights I get a lot of interference to the point I can not hear anyone talking. Any one have this happen? Installed DDM 35watt low and fogs. Any ideas?

Weird...... No issues with that here. Do you have relays or anything extra from the hid wired to the battery? Where is the power source for your cb?
 
Sometimes faulty circuitry in the ballast causing interference with audio equipment. Happened to me. Try to see which of the 4 ballast is the "bad" one and have it replaced.
 
Well i grounded CB directly to battery-no help
Unplugged each ballast and it got less. Interference was gone with all unplugged.
Will any 35watt ballast work or do I need to invest in better HID's?

I did not get the relay, should I have gotten it?
 
Its does not affect the radio just the CB. I am confused. Would another brand ballast work or would it be a waste of money? The HID's also snap on bright then dim and slowly come up to full brightness. Is that normal?

I had nothing but electrical problems in my 03 while running on the stock headlight wiring. I would have 1 ballast of the 2 ignite, or 1 come on, then shut off, and the other 1 come on, eventually leading to me blowing several fuses, including my ECU fuse. After all those electrical gremlins, I didn't even run HID's in my 03 again. I only put HID's back in after I got my 08, and bought a high quality kit with full relay harness, to ensure that there was no extra load on my stock wiring. Have had zero startup issues, or issues with the ballasts staying on.

That is normal for the cheaper, non-digital ballasts.
 
I feel you this BlackAck. I put some cheaper ones in mine a while back and had a ton issues. The driver side wouldn't always turn on with the first flick of the switch, so if I was riding around in the daytime during the rain or something, I never knew whether both of my lights were on or not. Then eventually they blew my fuse. I'm pretty sure a relay would have helped with these issues.

I ended up so frustrated with these things that I just went back to regular halogens. Haven't had any issues since. I'm not opposed to going HID's in the future, but I'm gonna make sure to spend the money and get a good kit with relays.
 
OMG what r u all doing......ive been into selling and installing HID's for 5yrs now. This thread is all over the place.

1. No relay harness is needed.
2. Yes cheap HID's will screw your sht up.
3. I would invest in a better quality HID.

I installed you hids and the interference is almost totally gone!! I then switched antennas and now there is almost no interference. The LED backup bulbs look awesome. Thank you. If I get this job in Ks you can expect some more buisiness from me. Thank you!!
