You can choose the level of color in your bulb. The K= the temperature of the bulb measured in degrees kelvin.
3000k is yellow, 4500k-5000k is pure white, 6000k is blue, 8000k is darker blue, 10,000-12,000k is purple and so on.
You want the purest white because it is the brightest. There is plenty of people and info to back this up no matter where you search. 6000k is not the brightest at all. That is false info.
On the link, you chose the wattage you want, 35w (which is plenty bright) or 55w (which is blinding bright to other drivers in an unsealed beam); the bulb type, which is H4 with high/low bi-xenon; your color temp, which is described above.
There is a color scale if you scroll down and click on the bulb color tab. This shows you how the temps in color work.
Make sure your flea bay HID is really bi-xenon. Bi-xenon means that your low and high beam will be HID. Some flea bay kits have low with HID and highs with a cheapo halogen bulb built it. It's goofy.
$60 plus shipping is dirty cheap for a 35w h4 hi/lo slim kit

here is side by side comparison of 6000k and 5000k
and some interior forward light pics. if you dont have projectors you really need too. my light just floods everything.

Can you tell me what you have here that's making that much light? Is this from a headlight mod or from a drop in unit?

This is in my 4th gen but its just drop in 5000k HID's. Trust me thouhh that a projector retrofit is much better with more usable light
Since mine is a 2000, won't the results be different? I simply don't have the time to do a retrofit. I have two other complete car projects and another two cars that require maint/slight mods as well. Not to mention my motorcycles! So my plate is already full. I need the best drop-in option available so I can make my headlights as bright as possible. Is the ebay thing the way to go or the DDM tuning option better?
Also, why will these work when others said that drop in HID's will only shoot scattered light from my stock housings?

my picture shows how the light is scattered, and yes your results will probably be different do to different shape and size of the 3rd gen reflectors. projectors provide a definite cut off of the beam and focuses all the light on the road instead of everything including the eyes of other drivers.
that is an example of projectors light output. and if you want cheap chinese lights ie DDM Tuning just buy your lights off eBay or Amazon.com because they are the same lights and dont take weeks to receive since DDM lights ship directly from China. Ever since DDM stopped stocking their lights at their warehouse in Cali, the shipping time, QC and customer service has gone down hill. PLus theyre more expensive than some Amazon sellers.

I agree that projectors are the best option, but they are out of the question due to the amount of work entailed in the conversion. that being said, I'm now down to two options:
1) Drop-in HID's
2) replacing the PIAA H4's (what I already have)
Do you or anyone else know which will give me better results in brightness? I know the HID drop-ins are about double the cost of the PIAA bulbs, but let's take cost out of the equation for a moment and focus on performance. Will the HID drop-ins out perform the PIAA bulbs? Also, are there better H4's than the PIAA bulbs that will out perform the HID's?
Then the second question is, if the HID drop-ins will out perform the PIAA bulbs, how much better are they? Is it worth the 2x cost? Will they last longer?
I know, lots of questions, but that's what these forums are for...

quality HID bulbs will last exceptionally longer than halogen bulbs. however when you buy cheap Chinese HID's its a gamble, I've been running Chinese HID's for years with no problems though.
Ok, now what about the brightness? Better than PIAA Intense White bulbs? If so, how much? Lots? Little? Same? Any idea?

couldnt say, i have never ran PIAA bulbs before, just stock halogens which i usually swap out within a few weeks of owning a vehicle.
Yea, I probably will... except others have said not to go with 6000K and that I should go with 5000K since that's more white. Need to find that version of the kit.
i believe you can go switch bulbs and use the same ballast so if you ever wanted to change bulbs you could just order the bulbs. look around a bit, iv never seen the 5000k they speak of i thought 6000k was the lowest, but im not up to date on it, iv never ran anything other than 6000k in any of my 32 vehicles lol

I've had as low as 2300k in my other vehicles. I am running 5,000k low beams with 3,000k fog lights right now. I posted picture up the page comparing light output of 5,000 vs 6,000

2300k HID's here in my buddies mk5 GLI
3,000k in my 4th gen 4Runner
and 6,000k in my 2500HD
and then when you need maximum blinding power you can go with 55w high beams
dont mind the glare…
