Hey guys, I want to get some HID's for my 03 (Doesn't have fog lights, but I plan on getting them soon.... pay day hurry up and get here!)
I have a couple questions for the guys that have already done this.
Good place to buy them (It can be in store or online)
How hard are they to install?
I've heard that they get super hot, so will it melt the plastic that the actual headlight assembly is made out of?
Good mounting place for the ballasts, & all the wires?
And other info would be awesome.... I really need some help! Thanks guys! :thanks:a

1. Easy install (30 min). You may need to reverse polarity to make it work.

2. If you ordered 35Watt unit you'll be fine (5 years here and nothing melted).

3. Inner fender with sheet metal stainless screws is the place.

Good Luck

Alright, cool. Thanks. You can't switch the projectors from a 06 to a 03/04/05 can you? I've heard you can't because Toyota changed the fender a little. Thanks for the info... I'll be sure that I remember to get the 35w.

Why are you reposting???? Read the forum rules?

Anyway, if you do a search, you CAN install 2006+ projectors into a 2003-2005 4Runner. Been done many times.

In your other post, I see you decided to go with retros! :thumb3:

Sorry, didn't mean to bite your head off.........

Anyway, if you decide to go with OEM '06 projectors, be aware you will be the bottom garish for it to look proper (garish: little piece of metal fills in the space btwn the headlight/grill/bumper). Even when properly installed, there will be a space See Here: (I personally think it looks fine, but some don't care for the space)

B/c your runner is white, the space between where the grill/headlight/bumper meet will be more noticeable. Also, with the costs involved, people just say, "screw it, with that kind of money, I'll just do the retros". On the thread:

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/15459-projector-head-lamps-3.html#post138177 , you will find the part numbers you will need. Good luck!

I believe I read somewhere that HIDs actually run cooler than Halogen - I think they used a temp. gun.
