HID kit help (DDM)

sweet! i wanted the same thing and i love (the color) of my 4500K, its not as white as i expected though it looks like a 5000+ from what i have heard from some of my buddies. As far as the light output, as long as you dont aim them down to the ground its probably pretty good??
 
I have to say DDM has some terrible customer service..


I ordered a kit 5 weeks ago for my wifes car, (already have them on the 4runner )

And Still havent recieved anything, Ive tried calling and was placed on hold both times for over a half hour. But I had to hang up because I was calling on my lunch break.

I tried to fll out one of the support tickets on the site, its been over a week and no one got back to me on that.

I know their site says lifetime warrenty but I sure as hell hope no one ever has to use it
 
man, I really really hate DDM right now. It's been about 2 weeks since I ordered my HID kit and those a**holes have yet sent them out. I got a backordered email and tried calling them several times with no answer. I've also done the ticket number thing but to no avail. Once I get in contact with them I will definitely be canceling my order.
 
Ill try to find it but i just read a thread lastnight at HID Planet saying that DDM is officially discontiued their HID kts and theat they are going to be going into LED lighting instead. They are planning on holding onto what ever HID kits they do have to honor their lifetime warrantys for everyone else. give me sec and ill see what i can find
 
Well that's crap. I guess I need to get my money back, because I ordered my HID's in the middle of February and haven't gotten them. Booo......I really wanted HID's....

I ordered mine the 14th aswell and got nothing. I just want my 68$ back at this point.


And everytime I call they place me on call and after over a half hour I got no answer.

Has anyone been able to actually speak to them ?

man, we're all in the same boat. I despise DDM. let me know if you guys were ever able to get in contact with those a**holes

I have:wow2: Now the next time I feel like I want to give away an hour of my life I'll get a hold of them for the warranty on two junk ballasts. Probably never happen since I just want to be done with the whole light "upgrade" thing.
 
guys what i would do is add them on facebook, it looks like a lot of people are getting communication from them there.

other sites for the HIDs are TRS and then there are a couple of brands people mentined earlier on this thread i cant remember exactly

SQ.MD didn't you already order a retrofit kit at TRS? or did you just get projectors?

FWIW, I still continue to have issues with mine as well. They work, but I have to cycle them a time or two to get both to light.

I had their kit in my 600RR, worked great. I have a DDM kit in my BMW 528iT, I have all the smae problems you guys have mentioned. Takes a few tries to get both lights to fire. I'm staying away from DDM for my 4Runner. I'd like something less expensive than the xenonrider kit but not sure what. Any suggestions?

Well, to lessen the cost, I decided to get HIDs from DDM and get PnP upgrade kit from TRS...would save approx. ~50ish....but regret that now because of DDMs crappy ass customer service...would have gladly spent that saved 50 on TRS due to their excellent customer service
 
I feel sorry for all of y'all who are having problems.

I bought two sets from them at two different times. Didn't have an issue either time and got them within a week or two from the other side of the country.
 
looks like Clemson and I got the last 2 legitimate kits and service. i bet DDM is going through hell right now! Canceling one of their biggest products is huge! i would hate to be on their customer service team right now.

i havent, but some of the guys here run HID's from VVME.com i guess its the other cheap but decent quality HIDs you can get

haha i was going to get DDM's bulbs but i heard that they run pretty hot in the projectors so i just stuck with TRS/ of course im still using DDM's ballast. hopefully they last. Your righ though customer seervice sometimes worth the pice.

Hopefully they hit you back, i was looking at all the comments and it looked like they were all replied to by DDM.
 
Anybody know how to disable the daytime running lights?

For some reason the HID's I just installed tend to flicker when the lights aren't turned on and the DRL's are running...

I haven't looked at this thread in a while and I was just reading the problems you guys are having. Mine still work great since day 1, but I quoted GottaBeTRD on this because my passenger side headlight runs wayyy too hot and melted through the plastic where the bulb screws in. So I duct taped it and it's set in there good enough. But before I duct taped it, the bulb was bouncing around in there for I'm guessing at least a week or two and somehow it didn't crack and it still works lol.

But I will get around to ordering a different kit in the near future.
