I have a HID headlight kit installed (not a retrofit) and am having some issues with one of the headlights not always cutting on. If I cycle the power to it I can get it to come on. That makes me think relay. The odd thing is sometimes one headlight does it and sometimes its the other. Have any of you had this issue and found it was hopefully the relay and not the ballast going bad? It happens often now so I'm looking for a fix.

Not sure if this is late for you but I had a similar problem: 1 side starting doing that & then failed completely. About a year later the other side started doing the same thing (sometimes it would work by cycling -sometimes not) then failed completely. I finally checked the fuses & found that they had failed - not BLOWN mind you, but had either overheated or corroded. They were swelled up (fat) where the metal enters the plastic.
Replaced the fuses & used some silicone electrical connection grease & they both work fine now!

I just wanted to give a little update....
The grounds seemed good so I didn't touch them but the fuse was a little different situation. My fuses were not damaged or deformed but I noticed a grittyness when i removed them from the holders. I also noticed the contact points on the fuse were very minimal and some water has creeped in there over the years. A little but apparently enough.
So since 11/27 both headlights have been coming on all the time and I haven't had an issue since. I know its only a mater of time now since I didn't really do anything with the fuse holders other than put the new fuse in. That must have scratched the corrosion from the contacts just enough. I guess the next mod will be a Blue Sea fuse panel and connecting the fuses to that.
