HID projector headlights on 95 t4r.

I'm want to get hid headlights on my 95. I could just get an hid kit and put them on the stock housing, but I really like the looks of the projector headlights plus it would eliminate the ridiculous scatter that is likely to occur. So I am either looking for projector housing with hid included or standard housing and then get an hid kit. What is there that will fit?

I think you will have to custom make a housing because 95s have the weird headlight shape. I would not suggest putting HIDs in stock housings at all. With the right projectors and some 4500k hids, you'll never go back. :thumb:

Don't do this. I just took the HID kit off my '99 and replaced it with cheap NAPA bulbs and the light is so much better. If you're going to go HID, do it right and get some projectors.

I don't think you're going to find anything off the shelf, though. You'll probably have to modify your stock housings for the projectors, or pay someone to do it for you.

I've been there and done that, people will bright you all the time. Hids in stock housings create glare like crazy for oncoming traffic and the light does not project the correct way, making your visibility down the road less.

I currently run 4500k HIDs in housing specifically made for HID use and I love them. My visibility is great and I never get brighted by oncoming traffic, even sitting on 35s with 7" of lift. Can't remember for the life of me who makes my housings.

Ok. So I'm not finding any projector headlights specifically made for the 95
4runner. There are a number of square 6x7 housings that I could buy...but would those look weird being that the 95 headlights are slanted? And if not how hard is it going to be to install them. Or am going in the completely wrong direction. Should I just stick with halogens?

Ok. So I'm going to try to install some nifty rectangular 6x7 h4 projectors with led running lights. The first question is how hard is it going to be to mount them so they are adjustable? Second question is what grill with square headlight trim am I going to have to find? Which will fit the best? What about blinkers? Will they still fit? Any help would be appreciated.

You will need a grill from a 90-early 92 4runner or 3rd gen pickup. I don't think it would be that hard to swap the front grill assembly out. The blinkers are in the bumper for every model so you are good there.

You would think someone would produce a better headlight for the 2nd gen. But I'll post pics of the project when I get a chance to work on it.
