HID retrofit tip from experience

HID retrofit is quite easy with the kits out there and I had it done by someone else, but if I had to do it again, I would easily do it myself.

I had an issue where I finally got to fixing it over the weekend. My cutoff came turned clockwise about 10 degrees and was not parallel to the ground.

When I cracked opened the glass cover, the culprit were these two knobs that acted like a pivot and twisted the lens and the cutoff.

Solution, I trimmed the silicone gasket where it meets the knobs or shave these knobs off. I did the first option and that solved the issue.

Also, it's little cumbersome, but test fit it on the car before you enclose the glass cover.

- why did you post that particular link? It is from 2010 and it's pretty out of date and isn't your exact retrofit. There are much newer threads available via search.

- what knobs, exactly? I looked at your picture and it isn't obvious to me.

that link because just a quick search. I liked the instruction on how to break the seal in the oven. You are right, there are better kits available now.

Ok thanks. I see now. Yes I usually shave those off when doing a retrofit.
