Yeah was gonna go with them if they stay till Sunday. Mike said he will. I don't have my CB hooked up so no CB channel for me haha. I just typically take rocky down to the park road then some other little trail that makes you cross royal gorge then to the park road again to falls then I just chill at the dyno falls area until I find another loner to wheel with. Haha

Thank you!! It was fun. Just need a fuel tank skid and maybe another inch of lift to not drag everywhere.

I need 2 more inches of lift so I quit hitting my fuel skid ha. Hit on that rock you helped guide me up. Luckily it was the only spot

Been there, done that
Bringing this back up. Did some searching but things may be out of date. I will be in Austin this weekend for the 4th. I have a stock 4runner and was looking to at least get some good exercise on my 4wd parts. Is it worth going there if I just did level 1/2s. I'll be alone with a passenger but it sounds like there will be a lot of people around.

Idk man I went out there 2 weeks or 3 weeks ago and even level 2s are tough in spots clearance-wise. The only level 1s are park roads and you won't enjoy that. I can take you on rocky if we stack like crazy in one spot (you'll grind your stomach for like 2 feet now) and there's another level 2 that's not too bad. Then there is royal gorge that is doable even though it's a 4 it's an easy 4. Take the second to last exit and you'll be good. All of that is maybe an hour and a half though. You're welcome to ride with me as well or do them twice. Up to you man

Okay thanks a lot for the info. Doesn't seem like it would be worth the 1.5 hour extra drive up there. I'll just stay in Austin. Gf won't be upset about that hah. Thanks again!

Im in the same boat as you. I bet there are some somewhat doable runs up there. Lmk if you want to to go up and scope it out. Also, in town, there is a rock road in the entrance to hotel granduca that's super easy and great spot to take your girl and watch the cars drive by.

I have a smallish group making a day run to HF next month if you want to come along. It will be a shake down run for a much bigger trip so we are not hitting the really bad stuff. Well - probably not. PM me if you are interested. Or anyone else for that matter.
