I have a 2007 T4R and was planning on ordering a set of HIDs from Xenon Depot. I noticed today they have two different retro kits

Given the choice I'd rather spend a little more and get the Philips kit vs. the XD branded kit. Anyone have any experience with the Philips kit?

I was under the impression the XD kit had rebased bulbs to fit the headlight assembly... does anyone know if the unmodified D2S bulbs will fit?

If you choose Xenon Depot I hope you have better luck than me. I ordered mine like 2 weeks ago, and they still haven't come. I have sent them at least 5 e-mails because the tracking number they sent me doesn't work and they won't respond to any of them. I get the automated response about it taking 24-48 hours to reply due to limited staff, but it's been about a week and still no replies. No idea if it's even coming.

Not sure what the first link is supposed to show me. As mentioned in my original post, I was looking to buy the Philips kit (bulbs and ballasts) from Xenon Depot (hardley the Japan imports crap from ebay). As far as projectors go, the 2007 headlight housing already has projectors in it so I don't need to retro fit projectors from another vehicle.

I was hoping someone could answer my question as to whether or not the Philips D2S bulbs would fit correctly or if I'd have to go with a rebased Xenon Depot kit.

As far as the light output goes, my previous car (Acura TSX) had HID's, going back to standard halogen lights is painful...

That sucks man, sorry. Did they charge your credit card already? Bonds44 ordered from XD and seemed to have a great experience. Also seems like he loves the lights.

I was going to go with XD and haven't pulled the trigger yet because no one got back to me on the correct bulb setup for my car. I think it's an H11... is that what you ordered?

I got the same automated response as well... not sure what that's all about. They claim they will be better staffed come Feb 18th but it seems like they are having a killer sale right now which I don't want to miss out on (the website says it expires Feb 15th).
 
They made sure to take out the money within about 20 seconds after I clicked "submit order" so I'm starting to get pissed. The day before I ordered it I sent them an e-mail asking if their H11 4300K kits were in stock, and I received a reply stating that they were indeed in stock. Then since the moment I ordered them, I haven't gotten a single response to any of my e-mails, the tracking number they gave me isn't valid, and i'm getting frustrated.

If they aren't on my doorstep tomorrow I'm going to start making phone calls. There's no way they would need this many business days to deliver a package from Ontario to California. I get things from China and Florida in 3-4.

I'm thinking that they lied to me about being in stock and are shipping them wayyyyyyyy later than they specified.

They pulled the same sh*t on me when I was in the market for a set of HIDs. The company seems like it's ran by 3 ppl. After numerous email and phone tags, they finally refunded my paypal accnt.

Just demand a refund and get a better kit somewhere else. PM me if you need help man.

I'm surprised you're having problems. Note that they're not in Ontario, CA but rather Ontario, Canada :)

I'm on my second set with them and love their product (not that this really matters). Hopefully they'll response in a more timely manner.

Shoot em another email and give them another shot.

So it seems like it's a 50/ 50 split between people who like XD and people who don't. For those of you who don't like XD do you recommend anyone else to get HID's from?
 
I ordered from XD and had a very positive experience. Like that one dude said, if he's on vacation just give him a little time. He's probably just a small business and crap like that happens, I dont think its anything to worry about, you'll get the kit.

Before I ordered mine I was wanting the philips kit but couldnt pass the price of XD's. XD didnt have the philips kit at the time so i was looking at buying from http://www.xenonpros.com/philips4300k.html

Theyre a lot more expensive but I figured thats the price you pay for a good european kit. Anyway, your call.

Yeah I know it's Ontario Canada lol. But that's southern Canada by so much that it's almost in the States. Shouldn't be taking this long.

There is no need for a relay. Plug n play. No need for running extra wiring all over the engine bay. But get what you like.

Your 2007 Headlights do have projectors. HALOGEN projectors. You need HID projectors. If you read any of the links posted, you will see the pics posted up that had light scattered all over the place, hot spots and glare. All results of these cheap plug&play kits. I want to take my Louisville Slugger and smash every one of them out on the road blinding people. Sorry for the vent.....

For more info, read up at hidplanet.com. If you can afford a 2007 4Runner, you can afford to do a proper HID set up. You will like it a LOT more and will not blind other drivers. I had an S2000, too, so I know how great a properly set up HID's can be.

Going on a rant is a bit much. All you have to do to get rid of the glare is cover the squirrel finders. There are plenty of threads on it, do a search and you will see that you can achieve a perfect cut off line without all of that extra work, and money wasted.

There is a reason why plug & play HID kits are illegal. And cut-off line isn't the only issue. Once you see the difference between a properly set up system and your crappy PNP kit, you will understand. Money wasted is buying a system that only blinds others and puts out crappy light patterns.
