High Angle CV Boots

Hey guys one of my cv boots recently tore on me and is slinging grease everywhere so I guess I should probably replace it. I know I'm on the borderline for cv angle/lift amount with 4wd's. Im sitting about 38 inches at the fender with 32 inch tires. I'm thinking this is what tore the boots. So I started searching around for replacements and found these. Has anyone used these? Will they even work on our truck? It doesn't say they will but it does say they work with FJ's/Tacoma's and our trucks are a lot alike driveline wise. Also if you have any tips for re-booting cv's, that will be greatly appreciated too.

CVJ makes sell CV's for or rides, and uses a style your looking at.
If you do a search on them, I noticed some gen3's stated had problems with the extended outers using them.
This is probably why ours are not listed with them.

Yeah I contacted them about new cv's, if I decide to go that route that's who I'll go with. But the boot just tore a few days ago so I doubt anything has gotten inside the axle and ruined it but swapping only a boot out seems to be a pain. Also just realized those high angle boots won't work with mine cause it's my inner boot that tore. Do you have to take the axle completely out to swap the inner boot? I've searched but everything I'm finding is for 3rd gens or different vehicles entirely.

Rebooting a CV is a PIA. Just buy a new axle and replace the whole thing. CVJ has a decent price on the axles with their silicone boot. I cheaped out and just bought a replacement axle from a Detroit Axle fir $49. I figure when the boots crack in a few years I will just get another one (if I still have the truck).

Where did you find the detroits for 49? I'm seeing 75..and are they good quality?

From their eBay site. Send them a message as I don't see them there right now.

They are decent quality. Time will tell how long they last, but at $49 it was worth a try.

IF you do it right, there shouldn't be any leakage from the Transmission.

I would expect you to loose a .5-1 cup of gear fluid from the front diff when you pull the axle out. But buy some anyways, it probably needs a top off.
