Well being a 4x4 guy without a welder (I know sad right) but I am not without resources. So I was at an industrial plastics and paints shop and decided to try this out.
What you will probably need
-M8x1 ready rod (I used the highest grade they had)
-8 matching nuts (there's a few extra but I always lose one somewhere)
-6 body washers
-two wing nuts
-3.5" tall 2" wide hard plastic bar of any kind.
-2 x 10mm wrenches
-hack saw or other cutting tool
I got 3" tall 2"thick plastic stock. I would use 3.5 if I did it again because it's just a little close on the drivers side. I could take the foot pad off if I wanted we will see.
Okay on to the build.
I started by taking the stock mounting bolts for the tie down points off. Now for me that wasn't so easy one of mine snapped. So I ended up drilling it out and using my tap and die set to save the threads.
The easy out style bolt remover didn't work so well...
A hard one battle lol.
So then in goes the ready rod, toss on a washer and a bolt to keep it from backing out of its hole.
Very important not to drill the hole on the side of the foot pad centered if you want the jack to sit nicely. I also drilled a larger hole with a step drill at the bottom so it would sit flush over the retaining bolt. Slide it all together a washer and a bolt on top of the plastic rod then on goes the jack a flat washer and a wing nut.
