"High Mileage" 5th Gen

Bought my '16 Trail brand new on Memorial Day Weekend 2017 (5/27/17). I'll hit 87K miles this weekend. Routine servicing is the only reason I've had my Runner at the dealership. No issues to report so far and don't expect any anytime soon! I appreciate the consistency this vehicle has provided me.

227,000 on my 2010 Limited. Bought used with 128,000. Other than oil, so far pads and rotors, 4 tires, a few parking lights, a battery and 1 wheel bearing. I'll probably jinx myself by saying this, but I'm hoping to certainly make 300,000 and maybe more. (And by the way, XREAS still going strong).

This is the highest mileage I have seen so far on a 5th Gen. I have 75K so far in 2 years so this makes me happy. I have always owned toyotas with my dads 22re truck going over 400 before he gave it away and I saw it on the roads for years after that.

There is a reason why it's been voted most reliable SUV for a long time. Cheers to getting to 300K, should be no problem. Keep us updated.

Just rolled through 230k on my 2010 TE.
I beat the crap out of it but no major maintenance so far. Im going to be doing some rear axle work and replace the seals and bearings back there but thats for my peace of mind.

Purchased my 2010 with 41K and sold it at 145; zero problems. Just purchased a 2016 with ~35K and looking forward to many more years! I echo the notion to sign up on the Toyota website to check what services the car has had done at the dealership; easy way to do some self research. Enjoy!

Any other 5th Gens break 100, 150, 200k this year or more? Always valued the info on this thread and wanted to add more data.

Just broke 110k on my 2015 SR5 and shes still running perfectly. Besides regular maintenance, Ive only replaced my serpentine belt which was showing some wear.

Planning on keeping mine until the 1GR-FE fails or till she ends up on the lid on some random trail.

About 125k right now, purchased a 13 TE Feb 2013.

Have had to replace the CV axles, driver's side was shot, decided to do both.
LCAs were rusted/frozen in place and replaced with OEM.
Slowly fixed all the door locks using toy car motors from amazon, it's a PITA project, but all work now.
Remote door lock/open doesn't want to work, not sure if related to above issue, have to lock using key.
All drivetrain components work and don't leak.
No other issues with HVAC fan. Servo motor seems to have become unstuck and moves air where I tell it to go.
Driver's seat issues went away, for now.
The Toyota plastic center piece on the back has broken half the plastic mounts and clatters on bumps.
Truck is on its second lift, ICON because the ancient 5100s gave out and I decided to replace the lift when doing the LCAs and CV axles.
Dash speakers blew out, have some Kicker Subaru speakers on order.
HVAC either smells like shoes or crayons, dog lives in car, might have something to do with that.
Frame surface rust still there, no big deal.
Front plastic cover still hasn't fallen off from under radiator.
RCI sliders just rusted to shit over one winter, were fine and then *poof* rusted where they've been blasted with gravel and road salt.
One of the back seats doesn't want to lock upright, not a big deal since I leave them folded, just noticed it when I was cleaning and needed to put the seats up.
Carpet is trashed.
Instrument plastic is scratched.
All dials and gauges and displays and buttons still work.
KDSS, multi-terrain, crawl control, locker, etc. all still work.

I’m nearing 94K miles on my 2015 TRD PRO

Within the past 10K miles I have done all the following myself this year.

Full brake job with all OEM parts. Replaced front rotors and pads, rear rotors with pads. Flushed brake fluid system with OEM fluid.

Coolant flush with OEM fluid

Differential fluid drain and refill, front and rear with OEM gear oil

Transfer case fluid drain and refill with Ravenol SAE 75W

Lubed drivetrain zerk fittings

Oil change

Flushed power steering fluid

Replaced spark plugs with OEM plugs

Transmission drain and refill with OEM ATF

Wheel alignment

tire balance and rotation

Replaced air filter and cabin filter

- Ready to go another 100K miles. Still drives like new!

I just upgraded from a 2007 4th gen 4wd @170k miles only because I wanted something newer and I wanted the TRD OR goodies. I'm sad to see the old one go and it will easily go another 100k without any question.

Chances all my 6 year old will inherit this '18 which started its life with me at 35k.

Funny you mention the speakers, I think mine are blown too. Will probably be replacing them with the same speakers!

2013 TE w/ 113k miles.

Oil and drivetrain greasing every 5k. Tranny fluid flushed every 50k. Diffs + transfer case every 30k. All other fluids replaced every few years. Replaced rotors and pads once. Woolwax before every winter cause everything rusts to shit in Minnesota fast.

Everything still works great including KDSS, multi-terrain, crawl control, locker. All buttons still work. No leaks.

Hardly any rust on frame. No rust on body except bottom inside of 2 doors.

Will be finally getting a lift next summer cause I can tell the shocks are going bad.

Front diff needle bearing should be replaced since I think I have the growl. Will be replacing it with an ECGS bushing.

Will probably replace LCAs, wheel bearing assemblies, and KDSS bushings around 150k for peace of mind.

Rear tan plastic panels are scratched to shit and blue from all of the wood I haul lol.

2014 TE

Bought mine in March with 163k on the odometer.

Now at 183k.

Drove over 10k miles this summer alone on a couple trips out west to Utah and Idaho. I'm loving every minute of it thus far.

I'm at 211,000 miles on my 2012 TE, bought new.

19.2 mpg mixed driving
3rd set of tires
3rd set of brake pads
3rd windshield
Replaced PCV valve 3 times as PM
Cleaned OCV screens as PM
Cleaned MAF and throttle body recently
Front wheel bearings around 160k
Sway bar bushings around 140k
Rear hatch struts at some point i cant remember
I put rotors on all 4 corners after my first set of pads went over 100k. I was paranoid they were worn and didn't feel like getting them measured or machined.

Runs great.

2014 Limited (Jan 2014). Just turned 143K yesterday. Only routine maintenance. Pulled the X-REAS about 3 yrs ago for Bilstein 5100s.

Our daughter's 2016 Trail (Jan 2017) had over 104,000 when she tagged a deer in November and totaled it (all the airbags went off). Only routine maintenance as well.

Not to sure all maintenance performed at a dealer is necessarily a good thing in all instances, highly dependant what actual dealer/tech that did the work

Even though it practically new I'd have it checked out with a good $4000 scan tool by a good mechanic ($100) before you pay.:dammit:
