High-pitched noise from glove box area - Cause?

The sound emanates from behind the glove box, behind which I unplugged just about everything. The noise never went away until I unplugged the ECM.

Does literally all the power flow through it? That doesn't seem right to me.

there are more circuits going through the ECM than the ones that dont. I would guess most of them do.

I dunno.. I guess some capacitor or transistor is starting to fail? I mean I haven't heard an ECM make that type of noise before. It doesn't get much amperage so I am really stumped here.

mostly I was asking about the amount of circuits that go through the ECM. versus the ones that go straight to their components.

pulling power from the ECM would(IMO) pull power from pretty much everything else.

I Had the same problem with mine. In my case it was caused by my CB radio. I used an Add-A-Circuit so I could have turn on and off by the key. All I did was change to a different circuit and the noise went away. Do you have anything aftermarket wired into your fuse panel?

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same problem, although my whine just happens when the engine is on.
