High pitched noise from rear?

Hi! My 05 4Runner Limited V6 just started making a mid to high pitch noise when driving. It starts when I get to about 40 MPH. The pitch gets higher as get faster. 70 MPH is the loudest and highest. Sounds like its coming from the rear tire area, but nothing is stuck in the tires. Can't really hear it when rev engine in neutral.

Any ideas, anyone?

check your rear wheel bearings

After you stop carefully touch each rim. If it's one bearing one rim will be noticeably hotter that will tell you which bearing. If they are the same and very hot it might be both. If it's both the rear rims will probably be hotter than the front. On a normal, healthy vehicle the front is usually hotter in the front due to braking.

Aluminum dissipates heat quickly so do this check within 2-3minutes of parking.:cheers:
