my dad's 03 V8 has 196,xxx timing belt is being changed for the first time this week. still runs great only problem is the sunroof leaks!

I hope I get to my timing belt before then! 138,000 and on first t-belt. I am trying to save up for the water pump pulleys etc. too. All in one shot. But, at least it is good to know someone's has lasted that long.

2004 LE V6 with 170k miles and going strong. I have started daily driving it and my daily trip is about 130 miles. THis has added up quickly and the hit the wallet. I average about 18 MPG.

get a better commuter car then and keep the runner for weekends, my dad had a 03 ram 1500 and it killed him on milage and gas so he bought another car to commute in which had 3x the mpg's.

yea get a camry or something those get really good gas mileage, nothing new though u can buy and old one for a good deal probably just suggestions

Newbee here, I have a 03 Limited with 135000 miles and over the last 5000 miles just starting to have problems. The problems led me to this site and I tried several fixes with no fix. I have been thinking on getting a new something but still trying to fix the AC blinking light. One tech says, evaperator, another says compressor. Light just flashes and no cold air.
Switch several of the fuses but to no avail.
Sorry I got off track, 135000 great miles, lots of them towing a 3000 lb trailer thru the mountains. Great vehicle.

Switch several of the fuses but to no avail.

Maybe you just need your A/C recharged.

I recently had the drive belt, timing belt and water pump changed.

Great vehicle! Only issue is I have a "vsc track" light that goes on and off - which Toyota Techs cannot fix.

03 V8 Update- Hit 151,500. Finally got the timing belt done the first time. Actually, the said it didn't look too bad. But, I feel better. They did say the water pump was definitely due. Did one tensioner, one oil seal, and the thermostat too. V8 still runs good. Trans too.

Wow, that's impressive. So you could save on every other timing belt then.... ;-)

I'm now hitting 160K with my 03 V8SE.

Nothing major done so far, only the rear boots and the timing belt/water pump at 150K. Thinking about evac the a/c system....

This has been frequently discussed here. Look for the magnetic clutch relay under the hood. Common failure. Part has been updated by Toyota. Cost around $24 at Napa.

90541 miles as of tonight. Got it when it had 75K on her last December. Best vehicle I have ever had! Will flush radiator and have a tranny service done on it when I get some extra $$$.

I have a 2005 SE with about 147,000- I will post a pic of the odometer- I think that would be more believable than just posting it.


BTW I bought it 2 years ago with 113,000

No issues then or since. Still fun to drive and quiet and tight as the day I bought it.

200k - rear wheel bearings - about $1200
202k - catalytic converter - $260
210k - CV Boots (i think this is what is was) - can't remember - i think $200 or under
210k - rear break caliper
various miles - led's in the AC/Heat control - very cheap DIY job

almost 222k now and something else upfront in the suspension needs replaced that will probably cost another $200 or so, I can't remember the name. I'll have it replaced at my next oil change. Found it during the last oil change but it wasn't a huge deal and my mechanic said we'd get it next time.

still uses no oil
still looks and drives great

This is the highest V6 4th generation I have seen. If you belive everything that is posted....:shrug:

Edit: Another member just posted in the thread that I linked. 236,000 miles on a 2003 V6. Pretty cool.
