highspeed lbj failure?

I have 100k on my LBJ and have some OEM ones waiting to be put on. This picture alone makes me want to do it every 100k. Its really not that much money considering what could happen if they break.

That's a pretty clean looking truck underneath.

Hard to believe that the cause would be LBJ failure because of excessive wear just based on that condition.

Actually that guy was trying to sue toyota for LBJ failure. West coast trucks look like that all day underneath.

Many fail because of bolt shear.

All 4 of my bolts sheared from the spindle, the balljoint was just about brand new, but the bolts were re-tourqued multiple times

Yep I've had mine fail twice. First time the joint failed, second time the bolts sheared off. Both times were offroad.

What's the specs on the bolts, cus I'm bout to go buy me some lol.

Yea try going to a Fastenall once you have the specs and get the best bolts, if the bolts fail its a gigantic PITA. If the balljoint comes apart it is easy to replace at least if it does no other damage.

I cant get fastenal's site to work for me but the LBJ bolts are an M10 with 1.25 thread pitch and the shaft length is 1.25 inches or 31.75mm

I'm actually measuring slightly under 1.25" on shaft length so 31mm would probably be more accurate.
