Hilux Surf Grill Installed.. Opinions?

I picked this up 2 months ago and finally just got around to installing it.

I was going to paint the bottom part white to match but I figured I would throw it on as is first just to see how it looked. The silver matches the silver on the lower front of my front bumper cover. Also the roof rack and ski rack.

Not sure how I feel about it. I think I need to pull it off and get the lower part painted white. Still not sure about the chrome though... At the very least I think it would make a nice platform for a satoshi grill mod.

Personally, I don't care for it, too 'busy' for my taste. But if you are going to keep it, the bottom needs to match vehicle color (IMHO).

There isnt a black part... Thats just a small gap / shadow.

Personally, I think paint the new grill black and get a big Toyota badge and paint it white (body color) and stick that on there.

I like that idea a lot... Paint the bottom part white, paint the chrome in the grill black and put a big FJ40 TOYOTA badge in the middle.

Might just have to do that.

Ok here is my HORRIBLE photoshop job... Done in MS paint. Just kind of squint your eyes... it gives you the general idea.... and I would center the Toyota emblem.

To each his own, but I love the way that it matches the aluminum color at the bottom (below the license plate) and ties it all together. That's why I thought that painting the black, lower grille (down by the license plate) an aluminum color to match it all would be sweet. The front of your Runner would be just white and aluminum, instead of white, aluminum, and black. Either way you go, I think it would look great... that Hilux Surf grille has a very clean look! Great idea!

Where did you pick this grill up from? Also, what year model Hilux should I look at for a grill that would fit 2003-2005?
