Hit by a bus! :-(

My chick drove in to work and on her way home waiting to get into the Lincoln tunnel some in a hurry dbag driving one of those short access a ride buses turn left in to her and just kept going.

Mostly cosmetic damage, the wheel alignment is screwed up. Cost is $3800 to fix it. The truck is not 6 months old yet.[emoji107]

I'm not a fortune teller but I see a new steel bumper in your future.

That Sucks...

What the poster before was referring to was a new steel bumper - aka SW, Demello, ARB...

Not the aluminum front bumper plate under the bumper cover.

That definitely sucks, my last 14 vehicles were bought used (even though a couple were less than 6 months old) and this 4Runner is my first new vehicle in years. I've been paranoid someone would hit me in the first year or so...however, your issue couldn't be better under the circumstances! No significant damage, no injuries...I vote for the new Demello bumper!

Steel plate bumper would've gotten trashed by a bus too. No point in getting one unless you really need it.

I feel your pain... my T4R's first week it had $13.5k in hail damage. My wife then approved a suspension upgrade because it was now officially broken in...

The adjuster for Geico said man that guy just kept going. If this was her old 2005 4runner under the damage would have been much worse, hood radiator condenser etc...

That sucks, man...

The worst part will be using a rental and potentially waiting 2+ weeks to get the Runner back. Also, resale value taking a hit.

The silver lining is she's alive.

Go take the money and get a Shrockworks front bumper. Send your pictures to Mark, and maybe he can let you jump the line.

Why the push to get an aftermarket bumper? Unless it needed for hard core off roading just get it restored back to new. Not everybody need or wants the aftermarket bumper. I think some of the aftermarket bumper look ugly.

sorry to see and hear this !

my FJ was hit by a box van rather large one :) and my arb just had white paint on the side
he pulled into my lane sending me sideways
so a good bumper just might be bus proof say under 20MPH :)

agree dont get one unless you WANT one
otherwise you do change the looks ? for some good or bad

but you almost always have to start to change the front springs which means shocks which means you get bit by the upgrade bug and realize it looks empty in those wheel wells which means larger tires then thinking HMMMM I think I need a rear bumper in case this happens and now I want a big ol rack and
then you wonder how come I only get 15 MPG :)

but if you go off roading a lot go for it if just some fun traction trails skip it :)

I am not sure you can upgrade the T4R to make it quite bus-proof...
