Horns

Nice build man. Do you have a sound clip of that 4x Hella horn setup? I need something to wake up the red light zombies.

Added this Welco Hitch Tire Carrier to my 4Runner this week. Next up will be the sliders I ordered from MetalTech.

I drilled a third hole in the hitch carrier in an effort to get the carrier as close to the bumper as possible. (1/2 drill bit)

It stays put. There is a bolt you tighten inside the tube of the hitch that pulls a wedge inside the hitch to create an expansion lock.

I can tell you that if you want to remove this thing it weighs a ton. I had to take it out of the hitch for some adjustments (with the tire on) and it damn near broke my back.

Solid thought out build. Clearly forward light and vision will never be a problem for you. The main thing I like is that tire carrier. I guess I like my blind spot mirrors and rear visibility. How hi/low does it sit with you in the drivers seat? Pretty much loose all visibility?

I was thinking the same thing, I also like visability, but I also like the look and functionality of the rear tire carrier setup. and 700 bucks is a long way from 2+ grand for a rear bumper with carrier setup. This couldn't happen until I had a proper suspension setup anyway.

I drive down a lot of country roads at night so i like to see Waaaay down the road. :)

As far as seeing out the back, the tire really does not block any of my blind spots. Height wise it sits in the middle. If someone gets right on your bumper you cannot see who is driving the vehicle, but you know a vehicle is behind you.

I will try and take a few pics of looking out the back this weekend.

That was my thought process on this. $2K+ or $700, plus I can still tow and remove it if need be.

And yes, i have the heavy/larger springs on the back.

Finished up with the tire carrier, even added a center cap and 4th security bolt.

Oh look at money bags over here... even the spare is a KO2.

Funny.... LOL.. :)

Like i said in one of my earlier posts...

I got this email that I had some rich relative die in another country and left me a bunch of money....

All i had to do was give this person my bank account number, SSN and routing number. It was that easy...

Only kidding.

Lets just say Biz-Ness is good this year.

Truck looked really good this morning!...

Appreciate that.... i am trying to catch up to you on mods. That thing looks incredible with the addition of the rear bumper.

funny story, my kids are trained now. they see you before i do coming down the road and they scream from the back seat... "Dad look its Momo. It is becoming a game now to see who can spot your truck first while driving around town. :)

See ya around.... new mods coming in tomorrow... i will post pics when it arrives.

Quick update on the tire carrier.... Well I might as well have put a parachute on the back of the 4Runner. It creates a lot of drag driving down the highway. It is starting to mess with my gas mileage. But the coolness factor offsets the issue for the time being. Also found one of my favorite stickers.

26.2 (Number of oreos i can eat in one sitting...) :)
