Hmm.. help

OK so I debaged my 03 SR5 (only on the doors) because I want to paint them black but I know ill never get them on back straight. So should I just leave them off or try to get them back on? :shrug: TIA.

I used a heat gun and dental floss to remove emblems off the wife's Acura. After the emblems came off, I used Goof-Off to clean up the adhesive residue. That cleaned things up nicely. I didn't need to wax it after that either. Although it could use an exterior detail.

I'd recommend Goof-Off and a plastic putty knife to scrape off the glue. You're probably not going to get them back on. You'd probably be better off finding some TRD decals or emblems to replace them with.

Heat and solvent are your friends. That will soften it up so you can remove it. I had to apply solvent, heat and scrape several cycles to get the adhesive off. It will eventually get to the point where the solvent will penetrate and it will ball up or start to roll up when scraping. Be patient and keep at it. Just scraping will not work. Solvent and heat greatly helped me.

Using a hair dryer, goo gone, LA's totally awesome and Windex (using the Windex for the alcohol in it) and a plastic cake cutter. Getting some crazy looks from people since I'm doing this at 1AM lol.

Thanks for the tips, this is my first time doing this. When I get it off, I should use a rubbig ccompound, wash it and are wax the area, correct?
 
I actually bought a heat gun a while back. The hair dryer might work, it'd just take longer. For after.... wash and probably just wax. I don't think you'd need to use rubbing compound. I used cleaner wax on the area where I removed the emblems. What made it easy was the removal tip I found. They recommended heating up the emblem with a heat gun. After heat they said to use dental floss to slide behind and remove the emblems. The floss cut through like butter, taking most of the adhesive with it.
