After my bad lbj failure and no time to repair I took it to a highly reputable shop locally after just over 600.00 in parts and labor I get a call from the shops front desk to come pick up my warranty info and at picking it up to my knee failing horror I got moog lbj's instead of the oems I paid for! So my question is how bad are moog? and will my truck hold up till I can replace?

That sucks, are they going to replace the moogs for the OEM ones you paid for?

I was just looking earlier if moog ball joints were good enough, I decided on OEM. But others who have replaced with moog may chime in and say better

I've got moog hand haven't had any issues.

LBJs aren't that hard to change out. I would tell them to at least refund the cost of the OEM, go get the OEM LBJ, the put it on in your driveway.

Oh yeah. Then never go to that shop again.

Don't let them get off the hook for promising one part and giving you another. Get a refund or replacement. Let them know that you're willing to raise a stink about it.

I have only used OEM Toyota, so I can't really comment on the differences int he parts, but I'm more concerned about the principal of the matter.

I'm going to cause something lol just needed to know that ill get a few thousand miles out of them ill be changing to oem asap hope they atleast give the difference back i'm sure they won't change them to oem I paid for

Plenty of people are running MOOG LBJs (including me) and have had no problems. They probably won't last as long as OEMs, but they are fine.

This is a problem for me. If you don't catch that the LBJ is failing right away, you risk a pretty catastrophic failure, and a major safety issue. You can only detect that the LBJ is failing when it has already begun wearing significantly. I don't know how much longer an OEM joint will be able to stay in the state of detectable wear, but I bet it's longer than Moogs, which means you have longer to detect it. Higher quality materials means longer time before it fails catastrophically.

I have ran moog parts and have never had any problems. As of right now all my stuff is still factory with 210k iam saving to do my lift steering suspension and bushings all at the same time. Guess I will be going oem for my ball joints.
