Homelink buttons

Has anyone found a solution for replacing or repairing the rubber homelink buttons that won't stay in place? I have a 2005 limited. The buttons are overhead with the sunroof controls. I went to the local Toyota dealer and their only solution is to replace the whole overhead console for $150.

look on the interwebz... The overhead console can be had for around $96. Not the cheapest solution, but def. cheaper than the dealer.

Replacing the whole housing is really easy. I just did that to add the homelink buttons to my '04 Sport that didn't come with them. It took me 2 minutes + programming time on the new buttons. Piece of cake. You just pull the old one off (held on by 2 clips, requires substantial downward force on the side closest to the windshield) and slap the new one on. There's only 1 wiring connector to unplug/replug. Definitely a DIY job for even the most squeamish about working on their cars. You don't even have to get dirty.

I got mine from Camelback Toyota (camelbacktoyota.com) in Phoenix. I think it was about $85, but I had to pay tax since I'm an AZ resident. I think it took about a week to get it in the color that matched my interior. Since the used one on ebay isn't much cheaper, I'd definitely go with new for the difference.
