Homelink Garage Door Opener

whats next.

Well, I can't do my next modification myself, I want to put in leather interior and side panels. My dad's an upholsterer but he isn't going to do it. He sent me to this place that does these unbelievable restorations on old cars. Since old cars don't come in everyday for big time restorations, the meat of their business is putting in leather interiors. They have such a great reputation car lots send them new and newer used cars off the lot to put in leather interiors. I'll get some pictures posted when I get it put in. I'm still trying to decide if I want a dark grey or black interior. My runner is the silver sport with the stone color interior. Any suggestions????

Silver w/black int. would look cool IMO , but the black will be hot , so I probably would opt. for the stone.

Get a swatch of the leather of each color and see what looks best inside. If your spending the money they should have no problems giving you a good size swatch.

Oh I think that would look nice too. They have tons of shades so I bet I can get a pretty nice matchup. I'll let you know, and include picts when its installed.

another good site that i found ordering toyota parts is easy and fast is http://toyotaoemparts.com/ its cheap sometimes cheaper than partnetz i like them because they relpy to questions in about 1 hr if they are working and if not by the next day...i have order large amounts of items from bumpers to the homelink system they also have a vin ## checking system to make sure the item will fit in your car.

Ordered mine and installed it today along with a TRD Air Filter I got from Partznet.

Took me about 30 minutes to install everything and program 2 garage doors.

I got mine at the door today. Install and programing was a snap. I love it and cant believe I only recently discovered this tread. Last year parts dept at local Toyota told me that i'd have to get Homelink installed in Japan and there is no way to add that later. What the hell do they know. Thanks all for sharing great info.

My '05 ltd came with homelink installed. I tried to set it up according to the owners manual (for normal and rolling code types) but it never worked. Has anyone else had this problem? The brand of door opener is "Overhead door co." on the side it says "code dodger"....I hope this isnt the reason why its not working.

Ok. Delete the codes in the homelink then try this.

Hold down the garage door button and the homelink button u want programmed. Once the light changes from a slow blinking light to a rapid blinking light, release both buttons. Then go to the garage door openner and (this is different for all garage door openners) push the "learn" button ONCE. Within 30 secs, press the same button u programmed 3 times, and it should work.

Thank you RX! Those are the perfect instructions. (Only difference is after the "learn" button, I pressed the programmed button once and the opener lights flashed. Instructions did say up to three presses--varies by garage door opener model.) I got mine working now. Thanks again.

I had trouble programming my HomeLink as well following the directions in the manual and on HomeLink.com.

No problem. I dont even remember reading how to program homelink in the 4runner manual. I pretty much base everything on the 4Runner off of my GX since they're identically similar in characteristics and functions. But i think programming homelink is the same with all vehicles cuz its the same manufacturer for all of them.

I am looking at buying the homelink setup for my 04 SE and when I search the part number (on Partznet) I get two options. One has a description of "Console - Overhead console - Overhead console - W/sunroof w/garage door opener
Stone 2003 - 2005" and the other has a description of "PLATE ASSY, MAP LAMP"...which is what Toybox's tag said in his pictures. I just want to verify which one I am supposed to buy so I can put it on my Christmas list. Thanks guys!

if you dont have a sunroof, "plate asemb, map light" should be correct as that is what mine says. Just make sure you get the right color. :

HA - not such a cheap/easy mod for me - turns out my Stanley openers (circa 1981) would not work with the HOMELINK -- Relaced them with Chamberlain ones which say HL compatible - then had to do the roaming code learn thing.

In case anyone wants to know if the part numbers above are compatible with an '07 4Runner, the answer is yes. Just got mine from Partznet, installed it, and it looks & works like it was always there. Thanks to all who provided the info above.
