I did mine the day after purchasing it, had 80 miles.... had to have that scoop. Total cost was about $1200 for it to be painted and installed. On a side note, I still have my stock hood leaning against the back of my shed if anyones interested...ha.

So what exactly is the part number for the TE hood?

I searched and came up with '53301-35230' but looking at these prices I'm assuming this is not painted?!? or I'm just way off on what is needed for just switching out the hood.

The price mentioned above does seem ridiculous for simply a non functioning cosmetic hood scoop. I think it looks great and want one but not at that price.

Come to Missouri, I have a brand new one sitting in my garage that I never swapped on.

Wichita to St Louis = 442 miles. Such a deal. If you're lucky adio3x is needing money for some new toy. And if it's REALLY your lucky day, your LE is black.

haha its unpainted, I was going to wrap mine. I do need some money for some new toys!

I have a Trail Edition with the hood scoop and while I agree it looks kind of cool, there is a problem that I have with it.

When driving into the sun early morning or late afternoon, there is an annoying and intense glare that shines off the back of the hood scoop directly into my eyes.

I usually just put my hand up to block the glare, but have thought about making some kind of shade that could be placed on the dash during such events. A simple piece of cardboard with a fold in it may do the trick. Maybe I will go work on it now that I am thinking about it.

Just plastidip the scoop, the matte black wont reflect.

So I second FITERMA in wanting the scoop. I'm going to follow the link that ANTMAN supplied but I can imagine that this is also possible for the '12 SR5 considering it shares a hood with the Limited, right?

I did it on my 2011 & it fits perfectly....don't really see why the 2012 wouldn't fit the same...they didn't change anything to speak of...
