Hooking Amp Wire to Battery terminal question

I ordered my amp kit today, but it doesn't come with the battery terminal...but comes with everything else..wire, fuse, etc, etc

How do I hook the power wire to the battery terminal? Do I only hook it up to the positive terminal with a terminal mount? And then the ground is actually just grounded inside the car on the metal (after scratching the paint off)?

You've got it right, you should find a suitable ground, close to wherever you are mounting the amp... find the appropriate fitting to clamp/solder on the end of the wire and away you go.
Same for the positive lead to the battery, or you can pick up a new multi-ouput battery terminal, which are handy. Stinger makes a few different options for a half-decent price. I can't remember if the last amp kit I got ever came with that stuff or not?

I am hoping I don't have to put a Cap in the mix as I am not sure where I would put it...but I am going to hardwire a power inverter too, so I might have to down the road.

Also going to put some peel and seal while I have everything out of it....will take some photos of the process.
