Well it had to be "somebody" whether from this site or not. But it looked like a minor impact, shouldn't have been (hopefully) hurt. I feel they should have seen the water and had room to both slow down and change lanes, hydoplaning is No fun unless you have all the room in the world, and we usually don't. I did like the 360 at the end though. :banana:

Honestly that could have been any of us. Everyone has a bad day sometimes where they're not on their game, I know I'm not the only person who's ever been groggy on the way to work and might not have recognized the danger that puddle presented in time.

Whole passenger side of that truck is screwed, I'm guessing it's a total.

They were lucky to get away with that amount of damage and not hurt anyone else in the process. That car wasn't far behind that passed them.

I've been in a similar situation - dark road early in the morning, fresh construction and asphalt oil... raining and raining... concrete divider, and I'm right up against it...

I come around a corner, and BAM! due to the temporary pavement (no drainage), there is this massive puddle of water in my way, and I have traffic on the side of me, so I have to go through this... I didn't swerve or anything and it wasn't nearly as bad as the video, and I made it through, but it was really freaky... My point is that depending on road conditions, you may not see stuff like that until it is too late, even if you are the most alert driver, because we can't see everything. So go easy on the guy... I'm just glad that they didn't have massive damage or seem too hurt.

I was in a situation exactly like that in my younger yrs. I was driving my hachi in the rain going home and some idiot cut me off and braked hard. I quickly turned right to avoid him and there I went hydro across the freeway. I saw headlights shinning at me while I was turning. Ended up slamming the side if the wall. My car was totaled! Only thing was good was my JDM motor and JDM rims. Lucky I didn't get hit while turning.

Maybe you should ask yours... it wasn't the drivers fault. Imagine a stretch of road that you know very well. Now it just had finished up a rain storm and the roads are damp, but a cardboard box washed onto the drain grate. You come around the corner doing 65, because you are responsible and driving in the slow lane, and you don't see the draw that has filled in with water. At this point there is nothing you can do except to keep the vehicle as straight as possible to avoid a deadly wreck. Could happen to anyone, especially if they were driving the speed limit in the proper lane....

Exactly who's fault was it then, the water's? You're one of those people who thinks that everything that happens in life is someone's else's fault aren't you? You must a be a poster child for personal responsibility. The moron was going too fast on a wet freeway, they should have had it worse than that and need to consider themselves lucky. It's stupid ass drivers like that who cause wrecks. You probably drive the same way since you're so quick to defend them.

Of course it is the drivers fault; but that doesn't make him an idiot. It doesn't even make him a bad driver - all it does is make him at fault for a single car accident. From the video, sounded like it was the third one those guys had seen, too. Were they all idiots? Or was it just a bad situation, all around?

Even so, for the record, you should not have been called an idiot. And then you shouldn't have escalated it. Neither was cool. Now how about we start acting like car guys and go back to talking about 4Runners?
