How are the Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro Driving Lights?

The T4R headlights have such poor throw that I'm thinking about buying SS3 Pro driving lights.

Everyone seems to be getting and always talking about the SS3 Pro fog but not the driving lights. Any experiences from people who use the driving lights? I'm thinking about buying a set now because of the BF deals.

The SS3 Pros are great driving lights, but if you're looking to supplement your low beam headlights, they're a poor choice. The reason they're a poor choice is actually the same reason they're such a great driving light - they're very bright and throw usable light way down the road. That means they'll bother oncoming drivers to no end.

If you want to supplement your low beams / be able to use them with your low beams and not bother oncoming drivers, I'd actually recommend the fog pattern. It's completely road legal and SAE J581 compliant. That said, when properly aimed, you can run them with your low beams. In fact, if you want to save some money, the Sport model actually has a tighter fog beam pattern than the Pro and is less expensive - but still more than bright enough.

OEM low beams do suck, converting to HID low beams helps a LOT.

DD SS3 fogs are also amazing, the beam is very wide, and horizontal beam pattern that you can aim to come in just below your low beams, they do a great job of lighting up the ditches for rural night driving. I had the Pro's in yellow, loved them.

If you are currently running the factory low beam bulbs, I highly suggest doing the H9 upgrade, or if able, to install the newer OEM Low Beam only headlight as they are over double the output with 5000k color temp. Just note you will have to de-pin the new connector and install the one from your original headlights.

OEM high beams are actually fairly decent and only get better after installing a better bulb such as the HIR design.

Now as far as the Diode Dynamics SS3's you've mentioned.

I have the Selective Yellow SS3 Pro's with the Clear Driving lens and they are wonderful as an SAE approved auxiliary high beam setup with the 4000k color temp.
