When the cable has fallen off the unlock lever? :ybrick:

Not the one in the cab, the one under the hood. My alt died this am and I cant even check it out because I cant get under the hood..

Any one have any ideas? Haha.

Thats what I was thinking. My grill is only zip tied on, so thats probably my best bet. I didnt have time to mess with it this AM.

So it doesn't look like you can trip the latch with the hood closed, but if you remove the grill you can remove the latch entirely and raise the hood that way.

That happened on my old 4runner and I was able to slip a finger in the grille and move the lever over while pushing down on the hood to release tension from the lever.

Fanangled the grill out only breaking it in one spot and ubolted the latch and up she goes..

The little clip that holds the cable housing in broke, so it wouldn't stay in the clip. I have it ghetto rigged with zip ties until my the new cable comes in.

Aw man that is no fun. Reminds me of a couple days ago when I left for work at 6am and couldn't get my hood to close! Wouldn't stay latched down. I know it has a safety latch but fearing it would fly open on the highway, I tied a big piece of rope (couldn't find a bungee) to the hood then attached it to the front tow hook. lol, was quite a weird feeling seeing the hood bounce around, while drive 100+ km/hr on the highway in the poring rain!

EDIT: Oh and to make it worse. Right as I merged onto the highway; two cops pulled right up beside me and slowed down. Looks like they were looking at the hood/rope situation; thought for sure they were going to pull me over. They didn't though, so that was a relief!
