How do I remove liftgate glass from 3rd gen?

I want to replace my rear lift-gate glass in my 2000 T4R. I found a wrecked 97 4Runner and I need to get the glass out of the lift-gate. There is no power on the truck and the rear glass is rolled up. I have the rear interior cover off of the vehicle along with the plate that covers the regulator. Does any have any idea how I can get this glass out? Do I unbolt the regulator and then try and work the glass out of the lift-gate? Any help or advice would be appreciated!!!

use duct tape to hold the glass up. unbolt from regulator, then unbolt regulator assembly from hatch and either take it out or drop it in the hatch. remove tape and manage the glass out. it may take some time as the access holes for the bolts may not be visible through the cutouts, but not bad. i do this stuff all the time for body work so it's not hard for me.

I can;t thank you enough man! I have a couple of questions if you could oblige me.

1. Do I roll the back glass down about half way then then tape it up? (I heard it was easier to get to the bolts if I did this)
2. Do I need to take off the rubber weatherstrip around the side and top of the window to get the glass in?
3. Does the glass go in at an agle and then level it out once its in?

2. yes. that way you aren't fighting it coming out and going in
3. a little. it is curved so that helps.

Thanks everyone. I got the old glass out of the salvage vehicle and only paid $38 for it. (Awesome!)

I did many to rip off the contacts for the defroster but I think I can solder them back on. I kept the connectors. My old glass in my truck is scratched pretty bad so a new glass will make my baby look brand new!

Any other tips, tricks or suggestions are welcome! I appreciate the iput from everyone! I will try and take photos and do a write up for future reference.
