How Do I Replace a Backup Sensor?

I have a 2011 SR5. Someone has decided to enjoy poking the sensor on the rear bumper until it dislodged. I cannot figure how to access the sensor inside the bumper. Can anyone give me an idea about how to remove the bumper cover and access the sensor. I'm pretty sure the sensor itself is working because whenever I put the truck in Reverse it goes off. Since it is recessed into the opening it senses the bumper itself as an obstacle and goes off. It is a noisy pain.

Sounds like the sensors unclipped from the collars.

The sensors are hooked to a wire harness that is taped along the backside of the bumper. If you look underneath the drivers-side corner of the bumper, you can see where the wire harness plugs/unplugs for bumper removal.

You will need to unplug the wire harness and remove the bumper to access the sensors. At that point you can re-attach the sensors to the collars.

Anything I Need To Know About Removing the Bumper?

It never hurts to ask. I haven't removed this before and was wondering if there were any "gotchas" to watch out for. I will take some pictures when I remove mine and post them.

Not sure about the 11's, but my 12 has the option to turn off the sensor with a switch. Wouldn't have to hear the annoying beep till you get it fixed.

I have turned it off for now but it negates the expense of buying it. I really want to fix it. Thanks for reminding me though and if someone else reads this because they are having a similar problem it might help them.
